Ingredients
My favorite kind of nut butter is peanut butter. So, for me that was the perfect type of nut butter for this recipe and the only one I added.
- ice cubes
- unsweetened almond milk
- frozen banana
- creamy peanut butter
- snack size Reece cups
- maple syrup
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
- Step 1: Place all of the ingredients into blender and cover with lid. Pulse or blend to desired consistency.
2. Step 2: Pour your smoothie into a cup or mason jar and enjoy.
Hint: When making this creamy smoothie, remember it's a great option to make it your own. You can pulse the blender, or use low, medium or high speed. Depending on how you want the creamy texture to be.
Also, do you have any ripe bananas you no longer need? Consider putting them in the freezer for when you would like to make this recipe.
Substitutions
- Milk - you could try a different type of milk such as soy milk, coconut milk or regular dairy milk.
- Chocolate - for added chocolate, use cocoa powder, chocolate protein powder or chocolate ice cream.
- Nut butters - if you prefer, you could also add cashew butter.
Variations
- Greek yogurt - add Greek yogurt in place of milk.
Equipment
- measuring spoon
- measuring cup
- blender
- mason jar or another drinking cup.
Storage
I found that this delicious peanut butter cup smoothie is best enjoyed right after making. When I stored leftover smoothie in the refrigerator overnight, it did not hold its' consistency and was very runny.
