Substitutions
- Box mix - rather than make the brownies from scratch you could use a box mix of brownies if you prefer. Then you can add the peanut butter on top of the brownies before baking.
Variations
- Peanut butter swirl brownies - after placing the peanut butter on top of the brownie batter, use a toothpick and swirl it in.
- Peanut butter chips - in place of the creamy peanut butter, you could add peanut butter chips for your peanut butter mixture. You could also try sprinkling them on top of the batter.
- Peanut butter cups - although I have not tried this one, an added peanut butter cup would be a tasty idea too. You could try adding several to the top of the brownie batter for peanut butter cup brownies. Or you could break them up and mix into the batter.
- Crunchy peanut butter - for a different type of peanut butter, you could try adding crunchy peanut butter.
