- Fruit - this ambrosia fruit salad can be very versatile. In addition to or in place of the fruit in this recipe, here are some other options too. Some to consider are mandarin oranges, pineapple chunks or pineapple tidbits and canned fruit like a can of fruit cocktail. Making for more of a mixed fruit salad.
- Coconut - sprinkle in some shredded coconut flakes.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
I do not recommend freezing it. As it may not hold its consistency well and may become mooshy.

This delicious fruit salad is a great frugal recipe. You can purchase the store brand cool whip. And I purchased the mini marshmallows, pecan pieces and cherries at the Dollar Tree. A great idea to check one of their stores out if you can see if available. And this recipe only calls for ¼ a cup of grapes.

Easy Marshmallow Fruit Salad Ambrosia Dessert Recipe!
Equipment
- 1 Large bowl
- 1 sharp knife
- 1 spoon
- aluminum foil or lid for the bowl
- 1 Airtight container
Ingredients
- 8 oz cool whip
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- ¼ cup chopped pecans
- ¼ cup grapes
- ¼ cup Maraschino cherries
Instructions
- The first thing to do, is to slice each grape into four pieces and each Marracino cherry in half.
- Next, in a large bowl, combine the cool whip and miniature marshmallows. Stirring until completely mixed.
- Add the cut-up grapes and Maraschino cherries into the fluff whip mixture. Stir all the ingredients together well.
- Cover and refrigerate the marshmallow fruit salad for at least four hours. This step will help soften the marshmallows. Serve and enjoy!
