Equipment

  • ¼ teaspoon
  • 1 Tablespoon
  • 1 Cup
  • 1 medium bowl
  • 1 handheld mixer
  • 1 8x8 square pan (glass pan or metal pan)
  • 1 sharp knife
  • Parchment paper
  • 1 Airtight container

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted softened butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ cup chocolate cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • olive oil cooking spray for the pan

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • First add the softened unsalted butter and the vanilla extract to a medium bowl. Stir together well.
  • Second, to make the chocolate batter, add the remaining ingredients except for the creamy peanut butter.
  • Using a hand mixer on medium speed, mix until all blended. About two minutes.
  • Then on top of the brownie batter place dollops of creamy peanut butter. This will bake into the brownies making the peanut butter filling.
  • Finally, place the brownies into preheated oven at 350 degrees and bake for approximately thirty minutes.
  • When a toothpick or fork comes out clean, they are done. Let cool.

Notes

Hint:

Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into them.

Storage

Store leftover brownies in an airtight container placing parchment paper in between brownie layer. Or you could wrap them in plastic wrap. I recommend storing them in the refrigerator for up to four days.
Or freeze them in a freezer bag that is then placed in an airtight container for up to one month. Thaw out at room temperature or in a microwave-safe bowl heat for about ten seconds.
