Ingredients
- Quick cooking oats
- Low-fat milk
- Water
- Brown sugar
- Ground cinnamon
- Vanilla extract
Lemon zest can be added to this dish if you would like.

Substitutions
- If you would like, you can substitute milk for almond milk.
- Rather than brown sugar, white sugar can be used as well.
- In place of ground cinnamon, there is the option of a cinnamon stick.
Notes
This oatmeal recipe can be enjoyed in two different ways. As a traditional oatmeal or as an oatmeal drink, Avena caliente. If you would prefer to make it a drink, just blend all of the ingredients except for the sugar and spices first. Then heat as explained below along with the sugar and spices.
