1. Drink water
I know that it can be hard to stop drinking soda and to drink a lot more water. It can be hard to get used to the taste when you are used to sweet sugary drinks. But there are so many benefits including saving money when we drink water.
Purchasing bottled water can still be less expensive than buying soda depending on how much you purchase. There are filters you can purchase for your tap water if you want to save even more by not purchasing bottled water.
A big money saver when my family and I go out to eat is getting water to drink. I have personally found that when we go out to eat, we spend an average of ten dollars or more just on sodas alone. So we sometimes will opt for water. Even cutting this cost out every other time you go out to eat can save you money.
2. Meal plan
Meal plan, meal plan, meal plan. This one tip alone can definitely save a lot of money. I know that it can be very easy to run through a drive-thru especially after a long day of work. When we have food at our house and then go buy more at the drive-thru, we are just spending extra money. Lets use up what we already have at home. Having a meal plan in place can help us to forgo going through the drive threw more often.
Having a meal plan does not have to be a month-long meal plan. You could do it week by week if you would like to. Make it simple.

3. Grocery pickup
I did not try grocery pickup for a long time after it was offered. I enjoyed going into the store to see all of the items that were on sale. I do still like to do this sometimes. But I have also found that I save money every time I use the grocery pickup service. I tried it out when I was in a hurry and knew I would not have a lot of time to spend at the store. I realized for me what a time and money saver this service option was. I was no longer going down the seasonal aisles to see what cute items were on sale. I also was no longer just adding extra items to our cart that we did not really need.
4. Scan your receipts
I have asked myself before, why did I not do this sooner? If we are going grocery shopping for example, why not get some kind of reward for it? Right? I was introduced to the app Fetch rewards and I have found it to be incredible. You scan your receipts and it will give you points for items purchased. I scan my grocery, gas and restaurant receipts.

5. Buy clothing off season
I do enjoy getting new clothes for my family and I. One money hack that works well is buying clothing off season. This is when I buy some of our clothing.
As we know we can score some great deals on clothing when it is on sale so that we can get the most out of our money. But some sales are better at certain times than others. Think of next season's clothing now and think of the current season clothing next season.
When it is summer, the last thing we may be thinking about is winter. But that is when we may score some fantastic deals on winter items such as clothing. Stores are wanting to get rid of the past season merchandise so there is room for the current season items. This can save us some serious cash. If you have some cash to purchase some things for the upcoming seasons and a place to keep them, you may really want to consider it. If you would like to add to your wardrobe or perhaps get a new one, this just might be a perfect time to do it.
6. Give it 48 hours
How many times have you gone to the store and saw something you just had to have? How many times have you purchased it right then? One money saving hack that could help you is to wait 48 hours before deciding to purchase it.
After some time has passed and you think about that item again, you may no longer want it. Or at least you may no longer want it enough to the point of going back to the store to purchase it.
7. Price compare
Another money saving hack is to price compare. When there is an item that you would like to purchase, shop around and price compare. Look online to see if there is another store that may sell the item for less. If so, check where you are at to see if they price match. If not, you could head to the store that has a better price. Or you could opt for saving time and ordering it online if it is offered at the lower price.
8. Remember your rebates
There have been times when I have purchased an item excited for the great deal and for the rebate. I had every intention to send the rebate in, and then forgot to. Have you done this before? We want to be sure to remember our rebates. Even if it is a small amount.
One thing to help remember is to fill out the form and gather the information they need and send it out as soon as you get home from purchasing the item. Or if you are busy and cannot get to it right away, put a reminder on your calendar.
9. Save your change
Each time you receive money back in coins, save it. You can put it in a jar to save. Some ideas to save it for are: to buy souvenirs on your next vacation, for a rainy day or for a family fun activity. Remember, every little bit adds up.
Conclusion
There are many ways that we can save money. These 9 money saving hacks can add up to savings. When we start saving in ways that we may or may not have before, it can be easy to look for even more ways to save. What are some of your favorite money saving hacks? Please share.
