Equipment

  • 1-2 ungreased cookie sheet(s)
  • 1 medium bowl-or large bowl
  • 1 spoon
  • 1 spatula
  • cookie cutters-optional
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1-2 Cooling rack(s)
  • 1 Airtight container

Ingredients
  

  • 17.5 ounce bag of Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix.
  • 1 stick butter 8 tablespoons
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour more for dusting surface to roll out cookies on.
  • 1 egg I used a large egg.

Instructions
 

  • Pre heat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, add the egg, soft butter and flour to the bagged cookie mix.
  • Stir cookie mix with a spoon for about one minute, bringing it all together. Then using your hands, kneed to make a soft mixture.
  • Step 3: Dust a clean surface with all-purpose flour and roll dough over it using a rolling pin. Make cut out cookies as you like. Then place them on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for eight and a half minutes.
  • When finished baking, using a spatula, carefully place cookies on a cooling rack.

Notes

Hint
If you'd like light golden brown cookies as shown in the picture in step 4, bake for about ten minutes. As bake time can vary, you will want to keep an eye on your cookies as they bake. This can help to prevent them from over cooking.

Storage

Place any leftover sugar cookies in an airtight container. If you ice cookies, place parchment paper in between each layer.
