Equipment

  • 1 air fryer
  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Wire rack
  • 1 sheet of aluminum foil
  • ½ Measuring cup
  • 1 teaspoon
  • 1 small spoon
  • 1 small plate
  • 1 sheet of parchment paper
  • 1 Airtight container

Ingredients

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoon diced jalapeno peppers More or less if you would like.
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  • Line an air fryer baking sheet with foil. I like how this helps make for an easier clean up.
  • Finely dice the jalapeno pepper.
  • Pour the brown sugar onto a small plate and coat each side of each slice of bacon with it.
  • Place the strips of bacon in a single layer on an air fryer wire rack.
  • I do not preheat the air fryer. Cook the bacon at 350 degrees for ten minutes.
  • Carefully remove the wire basket and with a small spoon, drizzle a little honey on the tops of the bacon. Then sprinkle the pieces of hot peppers on them.
  • Cook for another three minutes and remove from air fryer.

Notes

This bacon tastes sweet and has a little bit of spice to it. It is candied and absolutely wonderful.
I want to note that it may look a little burnt even if it is not overcooked.
For leftovers, store in an airtight container and refrigerate up to a couple of days. To layer the bacon, place a piece of parchment paper in-between the layers.
